4/30/2023 0 Comments Blood bowl 2 reviewIf your dodge take you next to an opposing player then you get -1 to your die roll for each opposing player that you are moving next to. However if that player was next to an opponent they he must dodge away. If you want to move one of your players, that’s fine he can move. Unless he is hungry, then he eats the goblin. This goblin gets the ball, the troll throws the goblin across the pitch to score. Almost every action that you perform will require a dice roll to see if it succeeds. This usually happens if you drop the ball, one of your players is knocked to the ground or someone scores. During a turn they will move and perform actions with each of their players until all of their players have activated or something happens that triggers a turnover.Ī turnover essentially ends your turn and passes play to the next team. The game plays over 2 halves and in each half the teams will get to play 8 turns each. Once that is done the kicking player setups his team on the pitch then the receiving player can setup and the ball is kicked…. You flip a coin and the winner decides if he will be kicking or receiving. It may look daunting but it’s very very easy to assemble. They can cheer the team on bolstering morale or throw rocks at the opposing team or even do a full blown pitch invasion! Naturally whomever attracts the most fans is usually on the benefiting side of this arrangement. This is important because the fans are a rowdy bunch and can (and often do!) impact the game itself. First you roll off to see how many fans arrive to watch the match. Using the starter set it’s easy because you have only a handful of models to choose from.Īfter each player has his team selected it’s time to get the game going. I don’t mean building the models I mean using a starting pool of 1,000,000 Gold to hire/purchase players. The Blitzer is set to CHARGE!!! GameplayĪs prep for a game you first need to build your team. It’s zany and funny and it just works, but you don’t need to know this in order to play the game. Like the background the game does not take itself seriously, at first glance. It’s all very light hearted, violent and worth a few chuckles. If you want to you can purchase a series of books written about the game or comic books and video games. There’s even dedicated sports casters and a hall of fame. Famous teams, players and stories the game even has its own god (Nuffle) who takes pride in blessing and cursing your die rolls. Teams range from mummies, vampires and zombies to orcs, ogres and humans (only Orc and Human teams are in the box). The general gist is that it’s a kind of American Football parody set in a fantasy universe. They are slightly too big but it’s better than nothing. They are an odd size so sleeving them was an issue. My only gripe with the components would be that cards that come with the game. There isn’t really any need to paint them because they are in 2 different colours of plastic but it will really help when it comes to telling the models apart. The most complicated model is only 3 pieces. You will still need to assemble the models yourself but that’s so easy with these guys. The main attractions, the miniatures, are absolutely superb. The sturdy boards are also double sided, one for each of the factions in the box. There are nice chunky dice, including an unusual D16. In typical GW style the components in the box are of a really impressive standard, the rule book is well laid out with step by step examples and lots of pictures.

4/30/2023 0 Comments Gradius 2 soundtrackThis series contains remixed music from the Salamander and Gradius 2 games to fit with the theme of the series. What about other media that use vgm, such as the soundtrack to a film or tv show based on a game? For this example, we have the Salamander OVA(1988-9), a three-part anime loosely based on Gradius 2: Gofer’s Ambition (1988). So far, we’ve looked at original and licensed music used in games as well as music about games. She was one of Konami’s first composers Read the rest of this entry ? Miki Higashino, who also composed the Salamander arcade soundtrack (as well as Gensousuikoden), is the composer of the Gradius soundtrack (done while freelancing as a part-time worker). “1st Stage” was remixed in Gradius Perfect Selection as “Challenger 1985“, a wonderfully groovy rock piece with a slick guitar and brazen synth trumpets. A cleaner copy can be heard in the Gradius Arcade Soundtrack(2002), which compiles music from all four arcade games. The B side of the album also had gameplay recordings – game music arrangers weren’t quite sure at this time what the best way of putting game soundtracks onto an album would be. The Gradius arcade soundtrack was first released on cassette in 1987 and featured musical scores as inserts. It is vgm at its earliest and purest form. Indeed, what she chose was a good fit (though a couple of the mid-stage themes I don’t find terribly fun). In an interview with Yasunori Mitsuda (conducted while collaborating on Ten Plants), Higashino states, “I tried to create songs that would stimulate the listener’s ears and send out pleasant pulses to their shooter-brains.” This philosophy was based on what the player’s experience would be during the game, and changed depending on the type of game as well as the stage within it. The music instills joy and confidence in the player, moving the game pleasantly forward – it is, in short, the idealized thrill and freedom of cartoon combat flight. The note range reflects the maneuvering of Vic Viper, notes rising and falling with the ship. The song is very short, with only an A and B section. “1st Stage” is pleasing to the ears with the long notes in major scale that we’ve come to identify with memorable vgm. The soundtrack was composed by Miki Higashino.Ĩ-Bit Mondays: Gradius – “1st Stage” (Miki Higashino) That said, Gradius makes full use of those four minutes to create several impressive and memorable tracks, my pick of which is the “1st Stage” theme. Released in 1985, the arcade Gradius featured pleasant music with loops averaging about 30 seconds each – one of which, the “ Boss” theme, is still used today! Seven stages plus boss battles means that there was a little over 4 minutes of music total (not including the “Morning Music”). Gradius is one of the longest-running soundtracks still in use today (incidentally, predating Super Mario Bros. New artwork created by Ian Wilding ( ).After months of technically having posts a day late (I usually post after 10 PM), I decided to skip ahead and do the 8-Bit Mondays on Sunday night so they would, in fact, be available on Mondays. Included with the album is a double sided insert, with one side featuring a close up of Ian Wilding's cover artwork and the other side featuring liner notes from Retronauts' Jeremy Parish. Faster and more driving than the Famicom version, GRADIUS 2 remians an absolute treat for VGM and retro synth fans. Containing deep, humming synth lines that are more in line with the Konami Kukeiha Club's arcade output. Only released in Japan (and in Europe as NEMESIS 2), this version of the soundtrack is a completely different beast than the Famicom counterpart. The B-Side contains the lesser known soundtrack to the spin-off GRADIUS 2 for the MSX computer. Where the original game's soundtrack was a high watermark in the early days of video game music, GRADIUS II pushes the Nintendo Entertainment System's humble audio chip to its limits, creating memorable, improvosition based tracks that listeners will be humming long after the record stops spinning. The A-Side of this record contains the original soundtrack to the Famicom/NES version of GRADIUS II. Further developing the sound of GRADIUS, Part II continues with the hard driving sound that the Konami Kukeiha Club became world famous for. is proud to present, for the first time on vinyl, the soundtrack to Konami's classic shoot-em-up GRADIUS II. 4/30/2023 0 Comments Rico london review‘A reason to be cheerful - THIS COULD BE EVERYTHING is the book I've been waiting my whole life for, a perfect 90s period piece about sisters, it's glam, gorgeous, a little bit melancholic and a lot charming’ Daisy Buchanan Nobody captures the exhilaration of first love and teen fandom quite like her' Lauren Bravo The way Rice weaves together fiction and reality is delicious, with details on every page that will have pop fans, Londoners and 90s nostalgics squealing with delight. The PC version of Kerbal Space Program 2 will launch sometime in early 2023 (before March 31, according to VGC), with the console versions of the game. "We understand this isn't the news you were hoping to see, but ultimately we need to make the best decision for the development of Kerbal Space Program 2. Kerbal Space Program 2 is a space flight simulator/sandbox set in the world of Kerbin, and its orbiting moon, The Mun. each have 2300 parts, now the total is 500 and the game becomes a slow motion. Back in May 2020, the game was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, before getting another lengthy delay by the end of that year. Will Kerbal Space Program 2 require a more powerful computer than KSP 1. The delay is just the latest in a long list of additional cancellations and pushbacks that have started rolling in ever since COVID-19 started wreaking havoc across the globe. This marks the fourth delay for Kerbal Space Program 2. Also planned for 2020 is the Perseverance mission, a mars rover originally named Mars 2020, which successfully landed. With everything going on in the world today due to the COVID-19 outbreak, we're facing many unique challenges that require more time to safely iterate, create, test, and make KSP2 as great as it can be." It'll be another year until we see Kerbal Space Program 2, courtesy of Private Division. A sequel, abbreviated here as KSP 2, was planned at the time of the comics publication to be released in 2020, although it has since been delayed to Early 2023. We are making a big, expansive game loaded with new features, but doing so will take longer than we previously anticipated. "As you all know, we've been working hard to make the best and most authentic KSP sequel possible," the tweet read. 4/30/2023 0 Comments Stray kids members ageTen-year difference… She’s so young, but she takes over the stage. However, it wasn’t the first time during that stream where STAYs saw Bang Chan stressing over the age of a newly debuted idol.Īnother group that has quickly shot to fame since debuting is IVE! Bang Chan pointed out that he was going to listen to their track “ELEVEN” but seemed even more shocked when a viewer told them that the group’s maknae Lee Seo was born in 2007.īang Chan then thought about it more in the context of his own life and couldn’t believe that when Lee Seo was born, he was already ten years old.Īs much as he tried to joke that age was only a number because Lee Seo was amazing on stage, it was clear that the idea that Bang Chan was deemed “old” was stressful! Like many K-Pop fans, Bang Chan seemed to have some sort of crisis after hearing this news and couldn’t believe that someone who had debuted was five years younger than him. Bang Chan couldn’t hide his shock when looking at his profile after seeing that he was born in 2002. Yet, as much as Bang Chan had praise for the groups and wanted to get closer to the members, something shocked him… and it was the year of birth of guitarist Gaon. The band has made waves in the industry with their debut song, “Happy Death Day.” In particular, he spoke about some of the newest K-Pop groups, and he started by looking at his fellow JYP Entertainment group Xdinary Heroes. However, it seems as if it isn’t just netizens who can’t get over how young these idols are! Recently, Stray Kids‘ Bang Chan went live with fans in his regular segment Chan’s Room and chatted about everything from Spiderman, his friends in ATEEZ, and more. For example, P Nation trainee Koki is only 12 years old, and IVE ‘s maknae Lee Seo was born in 2007. With an influx of new K-Pop groups making their debuts, there have been many discussions after netizens pointed out that the age idols are debuting seems to be getting younger and younger. 4/30/2023 0 Comments Xavier rudd walk awayBut awareness of his ancestry, in all its myriad threads, clearly informs not just the earthy tools but the profoundly inclusive message of his music. “There’s stuff we’ll never know,” he says. The spiritual conviction was there long before Xavier discovered the unsettled legacy of his paternal great grandmother, who would disappear from public records after being taken from her Wiradjuri homelands to Melbourne. “I don’t need to understand who that is or what that is, I just need to be a clean, strong vessel for that to come through, and be humble about it to realise it’s something that resonates within me and I just need to hold space for it, not let my ego get in the way.” “I’ve always felt like I’ve had this old woman spirit with me that that is prevalent in my music, and I’m a vessel for that old woman to speak,” he explains, not for the first time as others try to understand his innate connection to his craft. And I guess I always celebrate those things in my music.”Īs a child, at one with the sea and sand, inventing songs for his own enjoyment, Xavier set the tone for a life where creation was its own reward, and a gift not taken lightly. I think the roots of who we are, and what our ancestral lines are and how those stories have shaped us are the most important things. I don’t care too much for the other stuff. “I value community, culture, our connection to the earth as human beings. “I value the simple things in life,” he shrugs. Countless more celebrated acts have come and gone like fireworks as his campfire steadily grows: a beacon to the kind of music fan that seeks sustenance in a fast-food world. Today, Xavier’s relentless upward arc is among the most astounding success stories of our time. Those instinctive beginnings eventually yielded the more crafted and purposeful likes of Spirit Bird, Nanna (with his nine-piece band the United Nations), Storm Boy and seven more live albums - though nobody could ever count those early bootlegs swapped by fans from Argentina to the Czech Republic, serving to double his audience on each return. I was experimenting with didges and gaffa-taping them to chairs and I always had this real love for wood and the tones of wood, so it was all very earthy.” “When I first got successful I was surprised, because I thought what I was doing was more like art,” he says. From his birthplace on the blustery southeast coast of Australia to Europe, Japan, the US, Canada and South America, you can measure it today in audiences in their tens of thousands, and in hundreds of millions of song streams, not least his timeless, windswept keynote, Follow The Sun (2012).Īcoustic guitar in hand, engulfed by his progressively more complex and elaborate scaffold of didgeridoos and percussion, Xavier Rudd cut an utterly unique and compelling figure as the world warmed to his first indie albums of the early 2000s, Live In Canada, To Let and Solace. The break accelerated a return to the solo mode of creation that first led the barefoot multi-instrumentalist on his phenomenal journey. I’ve been able to experiment with some new ideas and new sounds…” “I had a chance to reset and change a few things around, to reassess where I was at, musically and practically. “I’d planned to take a year off anyway, the first time in 20 years I hadn’t done an overseas circuit,” he says. The wide-open space he’d found himself in - the great COVID silence - was both beyond his control and curiously in-sync. It felt like a wind of change, literally, in so many ways.” “We were on a trip north to the Cape and the wind was blowing too hard to take the tinnie out to the island… As I contemplated everything in my life and what was happening in the world there was literally a strong southeaster blowing, all the time. “It hit me last year when I started to write Stoney Creek,” the Australian roots journeyman says of the album’s first, exhilarating single: a rolling acoustic balm of a song that finds refuge in the simple blessings of rest, companionship and belonging in a world gone crazy. It’s a recurring image that speaks of wide-open space and the awesome natural elements that shape it: a force far greater than us, but ours to harness if we take the time to learn, reflect and respect its ways. The wind blows strong though Xavier Rudd’s tenth album. 4/30/2023 0 Comments Nightowl security systemPrice-wise, both Lorex and Night Owl are almost the same. But they do vary in several aspects, as you can see below: But if on a tight budget and already has an existing BNC infrastructure, an analog camera still works great.īoth Lorex and Night Owl have various analog security cameras you can choose for your property. Overall, IP security cameras are usually the best wired CCTV systems on image quality, audio features, and ease of installation. Lorex vs Night Owl: Which is the Best Analog Bullet Security Camera System? It has neither varifocal nor vandal-proof cameras at the moment. Sadly, however, Night Owl doesn’t have many options we can consider as commercial-grade for business. But as with Lorex, you can get a plain recorder and build your system gradually. The wired Night Owl security cameras in 4K resolution are the priciest in the whole catalog. And as with other American companies from other different fields, we can say its pricing gap is relatively fair. However, Night Owl is a US-based video surveillance brand from Florida. Of course, this is still a little too high considering brands like ANNKE and SANNCE have DVR systems under 150 dollars. Night Owl Mini-ReviewĪre you looking for a cost-effective way to monitor your home or store? Night Owl has a complete security camera system with DVR from as low as $250. Then there are the options with motorized lenses to capture even the objects at a distance in clarity. It also has dedicated IK10 vandal-proof cameras, which can withstand up to 20 joules of hammer impact. In the Montavue vs Lorex review, we saw your Lorex recorder can come with spotlight cameras for colored night vision. You can get up to a 32-channel kit in 4K Ultra-HD if you won’t mind the huge price tag. Speaking of which, Lorex has some pretty decent security camera systems for warehouses and other business properties in general. But you can get an NVR or DVR at a low cost and build your security system gradually from the scratch. It’s not exactly cheap to own, which is understandable considering it’s still operating as a Canadian brand. Lorex is one of the oldest CCTV makers, with over three decades in operation. The two companies primarily deal with expandable security camera systems with DVR. But then, are all bullet cameras usually the same? Let’s compare Lorex vs Night Owl and see how they are side by side. When discussing the differences between a dome vs bullet cameras, we saw the latter somehow has more pros. 4/30/2023 0 Comments Backdrop frameReturns: to see our Return Policy, please click here.Customized Design Print on Round Frame Stand for Parties/ Events/ Weddings. She will bite her lip and she will want to say I know, I already know, but that is not how this story goes and besides before she can. As he steps into the flickering light he will bow his head as normal usually out of respect, right now because he cannot look her in the eye. And when it does she will rise to open the door and the man on the other side will hang back in the shadows, fearful, shaken. When will it happen? Tonight or tomorrow morning, perhaps the day after that, but she knows it will come. The Queen, not the Queen but another Queen, my Queen, sits on the edge of a cedar chair by the dressing table in her bedchamber, waiting for the knock on the door. If you haven't already bought it you'll find no better way to spend £30 on games in 2023. Last week I played the Steam version of Dwarf Fortress. And I sing pop songs about videogames with you at Maraoke, a karaoke night about games. Talking of audio: I co-host a radio show, One Life Left, where we've been reading out Eurogamer's news stories and rating games 7/10 for 16 years - it's the longest running radio show about games in the world. If you want an audio version there is one on my never-updated website. This is one of those, a short (true) story that I never quite figured out a purpose for and I'm pleased it's finally found a home. My FTWD NotesĬharlie wants into the tower. Here are more notes I made as I watched this episode (I don’t usually take notes in shows but I have to just to keep up and/or stay awake with Fear). Why are we concerned in the slightest with the fate of Charlie-aka the Nick killer? Why is Strand suddenly this super efficient yet deeply hated villain who tosses people off the roof of his tower? Why are people suddenly calling him Victor all the time? I hate all these characters with a burning passion. Or.wait it’s not a con-Charlie actually is this sick? She looks fine but she’s suddenly gravely ill and it wasn’t a con she set up with June? Charlie et alia are just gaming the system. I was thinking this and then, when she convinces him to turn off the beacon for her-a mission that Morgan sent her on for reasons-I jotted this note down: You have to let these things develop over time. You don’t establish a romantic connection in one episode between a new and an established character. In wrapping up the story arcs for Rick and Michonne from The Walking Dead series, the new show will present “an epic love story of two characters changed by a changed world,” according to the synopsis. Production on the spinoff recently kicked off in New Jersey, but no debut date on AMC has yet been announced. Brandt reportedly will play Pearl Thorne, but no character details were revealed. The six-episode series–operating under the working title of Summit–this week added Lesley-Ann Brandt ( Lucifer) to the starring duo of Andrew Lincoln and Danai Gurira. The spinoff of AMC’s The Walking Dead phenomenon that continues the saga of Rick Grimes and Michonne Hawthorne is moving forward with a new cast member, according to a report on Deadline. |
